Utah authorities used advanced DNA technology to link serial killer Ted Bundy to the 27 October 1974 murder of 17-year-old Melissa Ann Smith, daughter of a local police chief, after evidence from the April identification of victim Laura Ann Aime helped solve the case, with Sgt Mike Reynolds and Sheriff Rosie Rivera announcing the closure at a Tuesday press conference.
