Celebrities including Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton won their battle to stop a 29-storey residential tower being built by the River Thames in London after a planning inspector rejected the developer's appeal.

Mick Jagger (82), Eric Clapton (81), Felicity Kendal, and Harry Hill defeated Rockwell Property's plan for a 29-storey (100-metre) tower next to Battersea Bridge in south-west London after a two-year battle, with planning inspector Joanna Gilbert ruling after an eight-day hearing that the tower would cause 'dramatic change to the skyline' and be 'detrimental'.
